OMG it has been wayyyy too long since my last post- October to be exact, yikes!
I've really missed writing and blogging and I'm looking forward to start the Livin' Lucky blog back up again!
WHEW, so much has happened in my life since last October, including a new job!!! I won't bore you with all my personal updates because that's not the point of this blog- if you want to know about my life like that, let's meet for coffee :-)
Today's blog post is about celebrating life and how to make your life "happier" on a daily basis. Lots of people trik themselves that they are "happy" with the current day by looking ahead and not staying in the moment, but it's important every single day to physically do something that makes you happy on that particular day. I found myself "making it through the week" by looking forward to a weekend vacation and just going through the motions Monday-Friday, and by doing that I missed 5 days of my life- and life's too short to just go through the motions!
Here are some of my recommendations for how to live happy every day:
1) Exercise Daily. As many of you already know, I am an exercise-fanatic, so this comes easy for me, but for others exercise isn't fun, but it's important to make exercise a part of your daily routine. It is a proven and scientific fact that exercise releases endorphins in our bodies and endorphins make us happy.
2) Establish a routine. We are creatures of habit. When we don't have a routine it creates unnecesary stress in our lives. A routine does not neccessarily have to be eating the same exact boring meal every day or leaving your house at 8:09am every day, it means maybe waking up at the same time every day or setting aside every week to call your mom or best friend. These weekly or daily routines give a sense of reassurance and happiness.
3) Get a furry friend! I am a true beliver that furry friends- whether a cat or a dog- give you a true sense of happiness! Not only does it require you to help create a routine for them (which I just mentioned was important), they also provide you with unconditional love, which you can't tell me doesn't make you happy!!!
4) Enjoy the simple things. Sometimes we go through every day and do not appreciate the simple and little things, such as an awesome cup of coffee, a refreshing yoga session, a homecooked meal, time with family, etc. As I have started taking a closer look at my personal happiness, I realized I was not appreciating these smaller things and these small things add up to a whole lot of happiness!
I hope you can find a little slice of happiness in your life every day with these small tips! Again, everyone's definition and source of happiness is different, it's important to find yours.
I'm excited to be back into the blogging world and I'm looking forward to sharing my insights and happiness with you!
Happy Monday!
Lynn
