The City of Brotherly Love

Another successful and fun mother-daughter trip completed!  This trip, I traveled Thursday to Saturday, so I'm able to enjoy a Sunday at home before the work week!

This trip was to Philadelphia- the city of brotherly love... and we just so happened to be visiting my mom's brother and his wife!

Mom and I took the train up and had a 1.5 hour delay due to a scary accident just south of Philadelphia.  A southbound train, not our train (thank goodness!), struck and killed someone right near where our train was at the time, yikes!  Our train had to stop because it was a criminal investigation, ekkk!  Eventually they allowed our train to go and we made it safely to Philadelphia.

Once in Phildelphia, we enjoyed a delicious lunch with my Uncle Chris at Green Eggs Cafe, located a block from where he lives in Northern Liberties- a super hip neighborhood!  I enjoyed a delicious Nutella Latta and a yummy salad with shrimp- my favorite!

After some wandering around and relaxing, I had a work event on Thursday evening and had to duck out while my Mom and Chris and Stephanie dined a Bar Ferdinand!

Friday was a great day filled with emails, a little late afternoon sun, and walking around Old City- oh, and delicious coffee from One Shot Cafe!

Friday evening we dined at Jerry's Bar, within walking distance of their condo, and I enjoyed an amazing meal amongst amazing company!  I indulged in Vino Verde (Alvarino/Trajadura J Portugal Ramos Vino Verde, Minho '11), mussels for appetizer, and delicious sea scallops for my entree, yummy!

I am so blessed and lucky to have such amazing and generous family members on all sides of my family!  I know that not all families are perfect, and mine certainly is no exception to this rule, but it is great to be able to reconnect and pick up right where you left off.  My Uncle Chris and Aunt Stephanie though, are some of my favorite family members to visit and I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit them more frequently recently.  Extremely successful realtors in Philadelphia (read more about them here), Chris and Stephanie are not only an awesome couple but hard-working individuals who are great role models and quite inspiring!  I have ALWAYS had a huge fascination and love for my "big Uncle Chris" since I was a kid and now that I'm a grown adult myself and he is married to a strong, intelligent, beautiful and artist woman, I love him and Stephanie both even more!

Thank you Philadelphia (especially Chris and Stephanie) for welcoming my Mom and I to the city of brotherly love- we will most certainly be back!

Cheers!
Lynn
